TALLINN, Mar 13, BNS - Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas on Tuesday welcomed at the Stenbock House members of the defense forces who have served on international missions.

According to Ratas, Estonia's security is strong today thanks to the country being a member of NATO and the European Union, but military conflicts, terror and evil intentions have not disappeared from the world and therefore Estonia must be ready to contribute to international operations. "The greatest value to us as well as our NATO and European Union partners is peace. Thank you for ensuring it," Ratas said.

Members of the Estonian defense forces who mainly in 2016-2017 served on the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission on the border of Lebanon and Israel, the UN peacekeeping operation UNTSO in the Middle East, NATO's Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan, the EU military mission EUNAVFOR Med/Sophia and the EU training mission EUTM Mali as well as the international coalition mission Inherent Resolve in Iraq.
