Hardware of Danish unit to arrive in Estonia on Thursday

TALLINN, Jan 11, BNS - The hardware of the Danish company that will start service as part of the NATO battle group stationed in Estonia is to arrive at the port of Paldiski Thursday morning.

The main portion of the Danish unit to serve alongside Britons in the NATO battle group in Estonia landed at the Amari air base on Wednesday. They were welcomed by Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid, Defense Minister Juri Luik and Danish ambassador Kristina Miskowiak Beckvard.

The combat hardware of the Danish contingent, including CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, is to arrive at the South Port of Paldiski on Thursday.

Denmark will take over the tour of duty at the Estonian military base of Tapa from a French contingent, who will continue contributing to the region's security in Lithuania.

A 1,200-strong NATO battle group made up of U.K. and French personnel started service in Tapa at the beginning of April 2017 and is part of the 1st Infantry Brigade. The lead nation of the battle group is the U.K.
