TALLINN, Aug 09, BNS - The missile accidentally fired from a Spanish fighter jet on Tuesday caused a wildfire in Jogeva County and firefighters will continue putting out the fire on Thursday.
Rescuers arrived at Jogeva municipality on Wednesday at 11:18 a.m. to safeguard the operation for searching for the missile accidentally fired by a Spanish fighter jet performing the Baltic air policing mission in Tartu County on Tuesday.
A bog had caught fire in the search operation area and firefighters were able to start extinguishing it in the evening. The fire is deep in the turf and extinguishing it will continue on Thursday, the South rescue center said.
Rescuers will also continue searching for components of the missile.
