Estonia: US aircraft damaged as it practices landing on highway

TALLINN, Aug 10, BNS - An A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft assigned to the 104th Fighter Squadron, Maryland Air National Guard, involved in training operations off Estonia's Jagala-Karavete highway on Thursday made contact with an object on the pre-coordinated training area at roughly 3:15 p.m, as a result of which the highway will remain closed until Friday morning.

The accident happened in the final stage of the exercise when one aircraft hit a highway barrier. No individuals on the ground nor the pilot were injured.

The incident is currently under investigation.
