RIGA, Nov 7 (LETA) - The Riga Election Commission has settled all formalities so ten new Riga City Council members could participate in the municipality's meeting today, LETA observed.

The ten new councilors have replaced those former Riga City Council members who were voted into the 13th Saeima.

Most of the newcomers are from the New Conservative Party as seven former Riga City Council members from the party have been elected to Saeima: Janis Bordans, former head of the New Conservative Party's group at the Riga City Council, as well as Juta Strike, Juris Jurass, Krisjanis Feldmans, Sandis Riekstins, Linda Ozola, and Evita Zalite-Grosa.

They have now been replaced at the Riga City Council by the Center for Security and Strategic Research researcher Druvis Kleins, Latvian Large Families' Association chairman Imants Keiss, State Probation Service's senior expert Peteris Aglonietis, lawyer and Legatus board member Valters Bergs, Riga Technical University lecturer Maris Grinbergs, Liepaja Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Marcis Kulis, and lawyer Janis Ozols.

The New Conservative Party's group at the Riga City Council will now be co-chaired by Ozols and Bergs.

For Latvia's Development chairman Juris Puce and the party's member Martins Bondars have also been elected to the 13th Saeima. They have been replaced at the Riga City Council by businessman and For Latvia's Development board member Andris Backurs and Edgars Lejnieks, head of the party's youth group.

Regina Locemele-Lunova, a member of Harmony's group at the Riga City Council, is now also a Saeima member. She has been replaced at the municipality by Arturs Hrolenko, member of the board at several companies.

The Riga City Council is meeting today to review amendments to the 2018 Riga budget.
