Swedish representatives to visit Latvia again for talks on Stockholm's Olympic bid

RIGA, April 13 (LETA) - A Swedish delegation will visit Riga again next week to discuss the latest developments regarding Stockholm's bid to host the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, using Latvia's Sigulda track for the Olympic luge, bobsleigh and skeleton events, the Latvian Olympic Committee (LOK) said.

The delegation from Stockholm will meet with the representatives of the LOK, the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science, the Sigulda municipality and the Sigulda Bobsleigh and Luge Track.

The meeting will take place in Riga on April 17 and will be followed by a news conference.

As reported, representatives from Stockholm's bid to organize the 2026 Winter Olympics have approached the Latvian Olympic Committee for the Sigulda Bobsleigh and Luge Track to be included in its Olympic bid.

Stockholm does not have its own bobsleigh track, which is why it has approached the Latvian Olympic Committee for the Sigulda Bobsleigh and Luge Track to be included in its Olympic bid.

The Swedish delegation already visited Latvia in January this year to inspect the Sigulda track and said it was suitable for the Olympic events.
