    Kalderauska, Eglitis approved as board members of broadcasting watchdog

    RIGA, Feb 13 (LETA) - The Saeima today approved journalists Ieva Kalderauska and Janis Eglitis as board members of the National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP).

    73 lawmakers voted for Kalderauska, and Eglitis was supported with 70 votes.

    Eglitis previously was news journalist at TV3 and the head of E Komunikacijas company, while Kalderauska was a journalist at LNT TV channels and later continued work at TV3.

    In total 13 applications were submitted for the tender.

    As reported, a tender to fill two vacancies on NEPLP was announced after Gunta Lidaka and NEPLP chairperson Dace Kezbere resigned from the council.
