Radevica finishes 4th in women's long-jump; one centimeter from bronze

LONDON, Aug 9 (LETA) - One Wednesday, Latvia's Ineta Radevica finished fourth in the women's Olympic long-jump competition, one centimeter from the bronze medal.

The best jump for the Latvian record holder was 6.88 meters, which was Radevica's best jump of the season.

Brittney Reese (United States) won the gold with a jump of 7.12 meters, Elena Sokolova (Russia) won the silver with a jump of 7.07 meters, while Janay DeLoach (United States) won the bronze with 6.89 meters.

As reported, Radevica finished in overall 13th place at the Athens Olympics in 2004, but did not compete in Beijing four years ago. She won gold at the 2010 European Athletics Championships, and the bronze in last year's World Athletics Championships.

Radevica also owns the Latvian record - 6.92 meters.
