RIGA, July 1 (LETA) - One of Latvia's most promising young ''freestyle'' BMX riders was killed at the ''Ghetto Games'' extreme sports festival in Ventspils on Friday, LETA was informed by one of the organizers of the event Sanda Bruna.
17-year-old Arturs Grikis was seriously injured on Friday when performing a trick on his BMX bicycle.
He was taken to hospital, but died later from his injuries, according to information obtained by LETA.
He suffered internal organ damage and died at hospital at around 6:00 a.m. this morning.
Today's ''Ghetto Games'' competitions have been cancelled.
