RIGA, May 24 (LETA) - During the Krzysztof Kieslowski Awards ceremony for the Best Eastern and Central European Script at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday, Martins Slisans' screenplay for the feature film "The Apartments" took home the top honor, the first such achievement in the history of Latvian cinema.
"The Apartments" is a story about two apartments, the tenants, and their hidden passions, from 1961 up to Latvia's accession to the European Union, as the film studio "Platforma's" producer Guna Stahovska informed LETA.
"The Apartments" is a comedy without much dialog but with intricate characters and interactions thereof.
