EPA 2012-05-16 10:04:50 Philippines to draft measures to register informal workers

The government's Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is drafting measures to register more than 16 million informal workers in the country, out of an estimated 37 million working population, for better access to government services. Laborers such as construction workers, vendors and workers in unincorporated households are being identified to benefit from social insurance and health benefits through community-based employment and livelihood programs.
