Hurricane 'Bud' on 26 May was degraded to a tropical depression, just 25 kilometers before it was getting to Jalisco's coasts. 'Bud', the first hurricane of this season in the Pacific, had sustained winds of up to 175 kilometres per hour with higher gusts off Mexico's Pacific coast on Thursday 24 May, making it a category 2 in the five-step Sapphir-Simpson scale of hurricane intensity.
