Photo taken on May 23, 2012 shows former Mogadishu curator, Mohamoud Diriye in Nairobi with past and present photos of the Mogadishu cathedral that are some of the photos he rescued from the now destroyed museum at Somalia's anarchic capital, Mogadishu. Funky dancing in a seaside bar, Vespa scooters on elegant Mediterranean style boulevards: faded images of a lost Somalia and its ancient capital Mogadishu, a city better known now for famine and war. A new exhibition of Mogadishu -- titled a "pictorial tribute to Africa's most wounded city" --, planned for Nairobi in June, offers photographic ghosts of a city's forgotten history, alongside more recognisable recent images of the war-torn ruin, by photographer, Rasna Warah [not in picture], so much of it has become.
