Reports indicate that seven United Nations peacekeepers from Niger were killed in an alleged ambush in a remote part of southwestern Ivory Coast whilst attempting to protect civilians threatened in an attack. The United Nations mission in Ivory Coast on 08 June lodged a 'strong condemnation' of the ambush that killed seven peacekeepers as they were patrolling a region in the country. EPA/LEGNAN KOULA
