EPA 2012-06-15 15:58:05 Japanese police arrest last cult fugitive after 17 years on run
Pedestrians read newspapers extra editions reporting the arrest of Katsuya Takahashi, the last fugitive member of the former Doomsday cult AUM Shinrikyo. The former Japanese cult member who was on the run for 17 years was arrested 15 June in Tokyo for alleged involvement in a deadly 1995 subway gas attack in the capital. The arrest of Katsuya Takahashi, a 54-year-old former Aum Shinrikyo member, came less than two weeks after Naoko Kikuchi, who had been also wanted in connection with the attack, was nabbed.
