Reports on 16 June 2012 state that the congress of the Republican Party of Russia (RPR) and PARNAS was held to adopt a party name change, PARNAS co-leader Mikhail Kasyanov said. 'We will hold a RPR-PARNAS congress on 16 June, but in fact it will be a PARNAS congress where the decision will be adopted to modernise PARNAS, specifically to change the name.
