EPA 2012-06-25 04:07:20 Skull of a Sri Lankan elephant with fully grown tusks exhumed at a Buddhist temple in Colombo
The decomposed skull of a Sri Lankan elephant with fully grown tusks is exhumed at a compound of a Buddhist temple in Colombo, Sri Lanka, 21 June 2012. The temple tusker with a fully grown and rare pair of tusks was buried in the temple compound with due respects as to that for a human, following its natural death last year. The skull was exhumed to obtain the tusks which normally are placed ornamentally in most Buddhist shrine rooms. EPA/M.A.PUSHPA KUMARA
