Spanish prime minister Mariano Rajoy (C) arrives for a news conference at the end of an European Union summit in Brussels, Belgium, 29 June 2012. Others are not identified. Spain is not planning to ask the current eurozone rescue fund to buy Spanish debt for the time being, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said 29 June. 'We are not planning anything of the kind,' the premier said at the end of the EU Summit in Brussels, where EU Heads of States were trying to deliver a convincing response to the debt crisis on 28 and 29 June. Spain and Italy won an acrimonious summit fight early 29 June, as the eurozone agreed to change the terms of an upcoming Spanish bank rescue and allow countries like Italy to tap into eurozone funds to reduce their borrowing costs.
