A NASA TV frame grab shows an Atlas V-541 rocket carrying the Curiosity Mars rover as it lifts off on the beginning of its 352-million-mile (567-million-kilometer) journey to the red planet from Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, USA on 26 November 2011. The car-sized rover is expected to land on the surface of Mars early in the morning of 06 August. According to a NASA press release, Curiosity's main assignment is to investigate whether its study area ever has offered environmental conditions favorable for microbial life. To do that, it packs a science payload weighing 15 times as much as the science instruments on previous Mars rovers. EPA/NASA TV HANDOUT EDITORIAL USE ONLY
