Karins has already accepted Golubeva's resignation; calls on National Alliance and For Development not to delay in nominating new ministers
RIGA, May 17 (LETA) - Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) has already accepted the resignation of Interior Minister Marija Golubeva, the PM told members of the press after a Cabinet meeting today.
Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks (For Development) will serve as interim interior minister until a new one is approved.
Karins also said that he calls on the National Alliance and For Development not to delay in nominating new minister candidates, after he also called for the resignation of Economy Minister Janis Vitenbergs (National Alliance) on Monday.
He emphasized the importance of the government being able to return to work at full capacity as soon as possible.
At the same time, Karins also told members of the press that the government coalition is stable and that coalition partners are working towards a common goal.
