    Latvian National Opera and Ballet cancels performances after employee tests positive for Covid-19

    RIGA, Oct 17 (LETA) - An employee of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet (LNOB) has tested positive for Covid-19, the LNOB posted on its Facebook page.

    The infected LNOB employee has not been in contact with any spectators or staff serving spectators. An epidemiological investigation is currently underway, but for the safety of spectators and colleagues, performances and concerts at the LNOB will not take place for the time being.

    A decision has been made to cancel all performances until October 20.

    The LNOB promises to contact ticket holders of the canceled shows in the near future.

    As reported, a record number of new Covid-19 cases - 188 - were registered in Latvia in the past 24 hours, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
