Cumulative 14-day Covid-19 infection rate per 100,00 residents drops to below 600; 34 more deaths to report
RIGA, Dec 1 (LETA) - Latvia confirmed 1,031 new Covid-19 cases and 34 more people died of the coronavirus disease in the past 24 hours, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) informed.
Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population dropped from 624.3 to 599.5. The last time this figure was below 600 was on October 3 - 585.3.
Of the new Covid-19 cases recorded in the past 24 hours 581 people were unvaccinated or had not completed their vaccination course, and 450 people were fully vaccinated.
Of the latest Covid-19 victims, one was between 40 and 49 years old, one was between 50 and 59 years old, six were between 60 and 69 years old, seven were between 70 and 79 years old, 16 were between 80 and 89 years old and two were over 90 years old.
Of these people, 28 had been unvaccinated or had not completed their vaccination course, and six had been fully vaccinated.
Out of the 11,794 Covid-19 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 8.7 percent returned positive.
The total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 in the past two weeks dropped to 11,794.
Latvia has so far recorded 254,690 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases.
