    Latvia confirms 156 new Covid-19 cases, 11 more deaths

    RIGA, June 16 (LETA) - Latvia confirmed 156 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours and another 11 people died of the coronavirus disease, LETA was told at the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

    Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population dipped from 144.1 to 134.

    Latvia's cumulative two-week Covid-19 incidence dropped below 140 for the first time since October 31, 2020, when it was 139.9.

    Of the 9,053 Covid-19 tests performed in the past 24 hours, 1.7 percent came back positive.

    Latvia has so far recorded 136,403 Covid-19 cases and 2,475 deaths.

    Of the latest Covid-19 victims, two people were aged between 50 and 59, one was aged between 60 and 69, four were aged between 70 and 79, three were aged between 80 and 89 and another was aged between 90 and 99.

    In the last two weeks, Latvia recorded 2,537 new Covid-19 cases, according to LETA's estimates.
