    30% of Latvian population have received at least first Covid-19 vaccine dose

    RIGA, June 18 (LETA) - On Thursday, Covid-19 vaccines were administered to 11,148 people in Latvia , with most of them receiving their second doses, the National Health Service's data shows.

    On Thursday, 3,220 people received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, 6,533 people received the second dose, and another 1,395 were vaccinated with the single-dose vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson (J&J).

    The number of people vaccinated in recent days could increase further, as not all doctors report data on their vaccines to the National Health Service on the same day that the patient is vaccinated.

    To date, 577,410 people have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Latvia, but 464,417 people have completed the vaccination process. A total of 1,041,827 injections of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country.

    According to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau, at the beginning of April 2021, Latvia had a provisional population of 1,887,600, so 30.59 percent of the population have received the first dose against Covid-19, but 24.6 percent have completed the vaccination process.
