    Covid-19 registered for the first time in Nica Region; coronavirus returns to Ozolnieki Region

    RIGA, Aug 13 (LETA) - Covid-19 was registered in Nica Region for the first time on Wednesday; Covid-19 has also returned to Ozolnieki Region, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

    One new Covid-19 case was registered in each region.

    The other two new Covid-19 cases were yesterday registered in Jurmala, where the number of active Covid-19 cases has increased to six, and in Riga, which now has 85 active cases.

    Two of the new Covid-19 patients are aged 30-39 and the other two are 50 to 59 years old.

    Forty municipalities in Latvia currently have active Covid-19 cases.

    As reported, four new Covid-19 cases have been registered in Latvia after testing 2,071 people for the coronavirus last night and on Wednesday. One of the infected people returned to Latvia from abroad, while epidemiological investigation in the other three cases is continuing.
