    Over 3,000 persons in Latvia have already died of Covid-19

    RIGA, Oct 23 (LETA) - Latvia confirmed 2,932 new Covid-19 cases and 26 persons died of the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

    Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population rose from 1,539.2 to 1,605.9, the highest figure ever recorded in Latvia.

    The highest cumulative Covid-19 incidence recorder last winter season was on January 10 - 693.9.

    Of the people testing positive for the virus in the past 24 hours, 2,194 people were unvaccinated or had not completed the vaccination course, and 738 had been vaccinated.

    The latest Covid-19 victims one person aged 50 to 59, four persons aged 60 to 69 years, five aged 70 to 79 years, 11 aged 80 to 89 years, and five aged 90 to 99.

    Of the 20,218 Covid-19 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 14.5 percent returned positive.

    To date, Latvia has confirmed 200,321 Covid-19 cases and 3,018 people have died of the virus infection.

    According to LETA's estimates, 30,404 people in Latvia have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
