A few more Saeima employees may have tested positive for Covid-19

RIGA, Oct 30 (LETA) - LETA has learned that a few more Saeima employees may have tested positive for Covid-19.

Earlier this week, Saeima told LETA that a Legal Affairs Committee employee had tested positive for the coronavirus. According to unofficial information, several advisors to members of the Public Administration and Local Government Committee have now also tested positive for Covid-19.

Saeima Economic Committee's head Ralfs Nemiro (KPV LV) told LETA that his committee could have been exposed to the coronavirus also.

According to Nemiro, even though the Economic Committee has been holding hybrid meetings, where part of MPs were meeting in person and others joined the meetings remotely, one meeting of the committee in mid-October was attended by all members of the committee.

Neither Nemiro nor other members of the committee have taken Covid-19 tests yet, he added. At this time, it is advisors to members of the committee who are getting tested, because they mostly meet in person.

Saeima Administration has asked all MPs who have been to Saeima building after October 15 to get tested.
